1. About us

happytrailsshelter.com is run by Happy Trails Animal Shelter, a registered animal charity ("we", "us"). By using this website or making a donation, you agree to these terms.

2. Donations

  • All donations are voluntary gifts to Happy Trails Animal Shelter. You do not receive goods or services in return.
  • Gifts to a general fund (such as food, vet care or the shelter) are used for that purpose. Gifts to a special case go towards that animal's treatment and care. If an appeal raises more than it needs, or an animal sadly passes away or no longer needs the funds, we will use the remaining money to care for other animals in our shelter.
  • Amounts are shown and charged in US dollars. Your bank may apply its own currency conversion fees.
  • Fundraising totals shown on our website include donations received online and, where stated, money received in other ways. They are updated regularly but may not be exact to the minute.

3. Payment

Donations are processed securely through Shopify's checkout and our payment providers. By donating, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method you provide.

4. Refunds

Donations are generally non-refundable. See our Refund Policy for donations made by mistake.

5. Receipts

Your order confirmation email is your receipt for your donation.

6. Website content

The photos, stories and text on this website belong to Happy Trails Animal Shelter or are used with permission. Please share our appeals, but do not copy our content for other purposes without asking us. Where an image is marked as an illustration, it is not a photo of the animal.

7. Liability

We work hard to keep the website accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

8. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
